The project coordinator participated in the final workshop of the Big Data Europe Project (https://www.big-data-europe.eu) that was held in Brussels in September, 14th. Rodrigo Castiñeira from Indra was one of the keynote speakers in the session that brought experts from the transport and big data sector. During the morning session, Rodrigo presented the main objectives and scope of the Transforming Transport project and showed the initial results of the projects such as the data portal (http://data.transformingtransport.eu/) and models from the Smart Highways Domain. In the afternoon session, it was discussed the benefits that the Big Data can bring to the transport sector as well as the barriers that might be delaying the up-take of these technologies in the sector.
